◆This is an antique café au lait bowl by G. Le Roy, featuring a swallow motif.
The deep reddish-brown color was applied using a stencil, and the soft blurring and distinctive variations in tone create a warm, handmade character.
It shows little sign of use and is in very beautiful condition.
There is an area on the inside that appears to be a cutlery mark and has become slightly stained. (Photo 7)
There are minor manufacturing irregularities typical of antique ceramics. (Please see the enlarged photos.)
No chips or cracks were found.
●Size: 14.2 cm diameter x 9.6 cm height
●Period: Circa 1878–1920s
●Crazing: Present throughout
(→Crazing refers to the condition of the surface glaze caused during manufacturing or over time; it is not damage (cracks).)
*Antique tableware may have kiln marks, uneven paint, wobbling, and other irregularities resulting from the manufacturing process, as well as
small chips, crazing, scratches, and other signs of wear.
We strive to convey the condition of each item as clearly as possible through photos and descriptions, but
