◆This is an antique French enameled polka-dot canister.
This was used to store chicory.
Chicory was drunk as a substitute for coffee and other luxury beverages when they were expensive.
It is in very beautiful condition with minimal signs of use.
There is some fading of the gold decoration, unevenness from the manufacturing process, and slight chipping of the enamel.
