◆This is an antique Barbottine plate made by Chovagy Le Roy.
The charming pansy flowers rendered in three dimensions are particularly striking, and the plate has a warm, appealing character, with each piece carefully hand-painted and colored.
It shows little sign of use and is in particularly beautiful condition.
There is a small hairline on the rim of the back, but it does not reach the front and is not a crack caused by damage. (Photo 8)
There are minor manufacturing irregularities typical of antique ceramics. (Please see the enlarged photos.)
No chips or cracks were found.
●Size: 20.9 cm in diameter
●Period: Circa 1878–1920
●Crazing: Approximately 50% of the surface
(→Crazing refers to the condition of the surface glaze caused during manufacturing or over time; it is not damage (cracks).)
※Antique tableware may show kiln marks, uneven paint, wobbling, and other imperfections resulting from the manufacturing process, as well as
small chips, crazing, scratches, and other signs of wear.
We strive to convey the condition of our items as fully as possible through photographs and descriptions, but
