◆This is an antique compote from the "FRAISE" series by Creil et Montreuil.
The strawberry relief is hand-painted in color.
This series was favored by George Sand (1804–1876), one of France's most renowned female authors.
While reproductions are available, this is an original antique from that period.
It is in very beautiful condition with minimal signs of use.
There is some slight paint loss.
There is a small chip on the foot (photo 19).
There are minor manufacturing irregularities typical of antique ceramics.
No other chips or cracks were found.
●Size: Diameter 22.2 cm x Height 9.8 cm
●Period: Circa 1841–1876
●Crazing: Present on approximately 50% of the surface
