■This is an antique Mortier à la moutarde (mustard pot) made by Creil et Piquaye.
It is very small, similar in size to a miniature saucier.
The series name "POMONE" appears to be derived from the Roman goddess of fruit and gardens.
It is in very beautiful condition with almost no signs of use.
There is a tiny chip on the rim of the lid where the spoon is inserted.
There are no other chips or cracks.
●Size: Width 14.2cm x Height 9cm
●Period: Around 1876–1884
●Crazing: None visible
