◆This is a small antique café au lait bowl from the “Lourdes Souvenir” series by Digo Ware.
The Basilica of Lourdes, where holy water said to cure all diseases flows, is depicted in a stencil design.
This is a rare type with a scalloped rim.
It is in very beautiful condition with little sign of use.
There is a kiln mark (foot) on the base from production. (Photo 10)
There are minor manufacturing irregularities typical of antique earthenware. (Photos 11–14)
No other chips or cracks were found.
●Size: 9.6 cm diameter x 5.2 cm high
●Period: Circa 1920s–1960s
●Crazing: Approximately 3% of the overall surface (around the backstamp)
(→Crazing refers to the condition of the surface glaze caused during production or over time; it is not damage (cracks).)
*Antique tableware may have kiln marks or paint irregularities that occurred during the manufacturing process.
It may also have minor chips, crazing, scratches, wobbling, etc.
