◆This is an antique café au lait bowl made by Gien.
It is an extremely rare goblet-shaped bowl, among the earliest types of café au lait bowls.
It is a very old bowl produced during the period when Geoffroy & Cie
operated the company (1840s–1860s), before it officially became "Faiencerie de Gien".
There are some stains around the rim, but overall it shows little signs of use and is in very beautiful condition.
There are minor manufacturing irregularities typical of antique ceramics. (Please see the enlarged photos.)
No chips or cracks were found.
●Size: Diameter 11.7cm x Height 8.4cm
●Period: Around the 1855–1860s
●Crazing: Less than 1% of the overall surface
(→Crazing refers to the condition of the surface glaze caused during manufacturing or over time; it is not damage (cracks).)
*Antique tableware may have kiln marks, uneven paint, wobbling, etc., due to the manufacturing process,
as well as small chips, crazing, scratches, and other wear.
We strive to convey the condition of the product as clearly as possible through photos and descriptions,
but please understand in advance that it is difficult to list everything.
