◆This is an antique compote by Émile Bourgeois featuring a "swallow" motif.
Its charm lies in its gentle and lovely design, depicting swallows flying among delicate flowers.
While the design closely resembles the popular "CERES" series by the KG Lunéville factory, it is an interesting piece with distinct details in the depiction of the swallows and flowers, as well as the rim decoration.
There are some small stains in places, but overall there is little sign of use, and it is in very beautiful condition.
There are areas on the rim that look like hairline cracks, but these are not damage and appear to be crazing or marks from the manufacturing process.
(Photos 10 and 11: same area; Photo 12)
There are minor manufacturing irregularities typical of antique ceramics. (Please see the enlarged photos.) No chips or cracks were found.
●Size: Diameter 22.2 cm x Height 10.6 cm
●Period: Around 1890–1920
●Crazing: Present throughout
(→Crazing refers to the condition of the surface glaze caused during manufacturing or over time, and is not damage (cracks).)
*Antique tableware may have kiln marks, uneven paint, wobbling, and other manufacturing irregularities, as well as
small chips, crazing, and scratches.
We strive to convey the condition of our products as clearly as possible through photos and descriptions, but
please understand in advance that it is difficult to list every single detail.
